Tornado Hits Selsey
Selsey, just a few miles from Chichester in West Sussex where Argo is based, was struck by a freak tornado on the night of January 7th 1998.
Hundreds of homes were damaged and many people were moved to emergency accommodation. An observatory belonging to the famous astronomer Patrick Moore was completely destroyed.
Up to 150 firefighters and emergency-service workers were called in to make homes safe and clear up the damage.
This happened just a few days after stormy seas flooded the area.
Britain is struck by 50-100 tornadoes each year.
